Studio LOHO and Sharon Van Overmeiren launch sculptural ceramic bathtubs

At COLLECTIBLE 2026 (12-15 March), Studio LOHO is launching a new chapter in its practice: LOHO Collabs. Through this platform, the Bruges-based design studio invites artists to reinterpret its famous ceramic baths and washbasins.
LOHO Collabs' first partnership is with Belgian artist Sharon Van Overmeiren. Together, they present an exceptional collection of sculptural ceramic baths and washbasins that oscillate between autonomous works of art and functional objects.
With LOHO Collabs, Studio LOHO opens its workshop to artistic cross-pollination and external collaborations. Sharon Van Overmeiren is the first in a series of artists who will collaborate with the studio in the coming years.
LOHO Collabs
Founded in 2017 by Karel Loontiens and Jo Hoeven, Studio LOHO has gained international recognition for its monumental ceramic bathtubs and washbasins.
Each piece is entirely hand-modelled in their Bruges workshop. This monolithic working method gives rise to serene, timeless objects that combine craftsmanship and tactility.
With LOHO Collabs, the studio takes a new step forward: artists are given the space to integrate their own artistic universe into this sculptural foundation. The result is objects that exist halfway between sculpture and functional design.
"For us, LOHO Collabs is a way to further releasing the potential of the studio and sharing it with the outside world, without having the ambition of becoming a gallery" - Jo Hoeven
Sharon Van Overmeiren: Fiction in Ceramics
Sharon Van Overmeiren is known for her 'fictional sculptures': works that oscillate between object, narrative and scenography. Her visual vocabulary draws on a variety of references - from classical antiquity to pop culture, from medieval heraldry to archaic symbolism.
Clay and ceramics have long been part of his practice. With LOHO Collabs, she translates her sculptural universe into a distinctly functional object for the first time - without abandoning the autonomy and richness of her work.
For this collection, organic motifs, modelled reliefs and ambiguous settle onto the surface of LOHO's iconic bathtub. The bathtub does not become a mere utilitarian object with an artistic touch, but a fully autonomous artwork that can also be used as a bath.
The accompanying washbasin acts as an extension of the ensemble. Studio LOHO's powerful formal language remains recognizable, while the artist’s fictional dimension fully integrates into the surface.
Each piece is unique
Every LOHO Collabs work is entirely hand-modelled from a solid block of clay. Each object is unique: no two pieces are alike.
The result is a collectible object situated at the boundary between design and autonomous sculpture.
With LOHO Collabs, Studio LOHO asserts the bathtub as sculptural territory - a space where form, craftsmanship and imagination come together.
"We believe in a renewed vision of interior design. Domestic spaces are no longer purely functional: they become a field of expression—places of beauty and comfort. From the bathroom to the living room, each space should flow naturally into the next, creating a welcoming and serene atmosphere where form and function coexist in harmony"- Karel Loontiens and Jo Hoeven
Premiere at COLLECTIBLE 2026
LOHO Collabs will be officially launched at COLLECTIBLE 2026, the international fair for contemporary collectible design, held from March 12 to 15, 2026 at the Vanderborght Building in Brussels.
The collaboration with Sharon Van Overmeiren will be presented to the public for the first time, marking the beginning of a new artistic journey for Studio LOHO.

About Sharon Van Overmeiren
Sharon Van Overmeiren (b. 1985, lives and works in Belgium) creates what she calls “fictional sculptures.” She does not consider her works as entirely autonomous objects, but as entities that can change form depending on how they are presented.
Her sculptures often “speak” through scenarios inspired by stories drawn from everyday life or literature, intertwined with reflections on our disconnection from the objects that surround us.
Within LOHO Collabs, her ceramic practice takes on a new dimension: a functional object that becomes both a vehicle for fiction and a bearer of meaning.
