Save the date for the third edition of Art Antwerp taking place from 14 December until 17 December at Antwerp Expo

The third edition of Art Antwerp, the contemporary art fair organised by Art Brussels, will take place from Thursday 14th until Sunday 17th of December 2023 at Antwerp Expo.

The fair positions itself as a platform serving contemporary art galleries presenting a refreshing mix of mid-career and up-and-coming artists. Unlike larger art fairs, Art Antwerp offers a more intimate environment for collectors and art enthusiasts to engage with artworks and interact with galleries on a personal level. This setting encourages meaningful conversations and connections between attendees and participants.

Art Antwerp launched its first edition in December 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the resumption of the international fair season, Art Antwerp thrived and is now announcing its third edition, consolidating its position in the contemporary art calendar.

The city of Antwerp is known for its multi-faceted and avant-gardist museums, studios and galleries, home to both the great Flemish masters and a vibrant contemporary art scene. As such, Antwerp constitutes the ideal backdrop for the emerging art fair.

Taking place in December, Art Antwerp serves as a celebratory end-of-the-year meeting place where art collectors, art professionals, artists and art lovers get the opportunity to engage in one-on-one conversations before the holidays. The fair also aims to underscore the sentimental value of supporting artists over the festive season, adding an extra layer of significance to the experience.

“From the start, Art Antwerp aspired to be different than the traditional art fair. Its smaller scale and local anchorage in the city shaped the fair’s identity and relevance, while settling it into the international fair calendar. In this sense, Art Antwerp simultaneously differs from and shares similarities with Art Brussels.”

— Nele Verhaeren, Managing Director of Art Antwerp and Art Brussels
