COLLECTIBLE: The international contemporary design fair returns in March to Espace Vanderborght in Brussels for its 8th edition
COLLECTIBLE, from March 13 to 16, 2025, at the Vanderborght building in Brussels.

WEDNESDAY 12 MARCH 2025
Press Preview and Conference: 10:00 to 12:00
VIP and Professional Preview: 13:00 to 18:00
Vernissage from 18:00
Experimental in its approach, COLLECTIBLE is the only global platform for the showcase and discovery of the best in contemporary collectible design. Originating in Brussels, it successfully expanded to the United States with a celebrated first New York edition in September 2024. Now dually and equally anchored in two continents, COLLECTIBLE has established itself as a transatlantic highlight where visitors can witness design history in the making.
Continuing its steadfast commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity, the fair showcases established and emerging galleries, design studios and independent editors in an integrated space and spectacular scenography. While collaborating with an array of leading curators, design institutions and foundations to deliver groundbreaking commissions and curated projects, the fair showcases well-researched objects reflecting the latest movements. It is widely acclaimed for its strong focus on premieres, forward-thinking unique pieces, and limited editions.
Serving as the heart of COLLECTIBLE, the MAIN and BESPOKE sections welcome participation respectively from international galleries and independent design studios to showcase established and emerging contemporary design in curated presentations. The NEW GARDE section features new galleries, project spaces and collectives operating for less than 3 years, offering them international visibility. ARCHITECT <=> DESIGNER is a platform exclusively for professional architects and interior designers to exhibit their latest furniture collections. The DIALOGUE section invites galleries to
juxtapose works from the 80s and 90s with contemporary pieces. A highly anticipated highlight of COLLECTIBLE each year, the CURATED section will be chaired and curated by New York-based artist and writer Brecht Wright Gander, around the curatorial statement ‘The Reality of the Virtual’. Inaugurated during the 2024 Brussels fair, the OUTDOOR section, curated by Rotterdam-based visual artist and garden designer Frank Bruggeman, invites studios to exhibit one outdoor collectible design piece within a conceptual garden setting.
COLLECTIBLE will also bring together key institutional players or creative companies in design and innovation, including the Grands Prix de la création de la Ville de Paris (France), CID Grand-Hornu (Belgium), RADO (Switzerland), MAISON COMMUN (Belgium), and CUBEX (UK). As nature takes on an increasingly prominent role in contemporary design, driven by the rise of biodesign and innovative materials crafted from natural elements through new technologies, COLLECTIBLE is proud to showcase ReishiTM by MycoWorks (USA). This groundbreaking mycelium-based biomaterial embodies the industry's deepening commitment to sustainability and aesthetic experimentation.
THE DIFFERENT SECTIONS
MAIN
Showcasing a meticulously curated selection of pieces at the intersection of design, architecture, and art, COLLECTIBLE 2025’s MAIN section welcomes both new and returning exhibitors, including ALEOR (Belgium), Augusta (Belgium), BOON_ROOM (France), Galerie Paradis (France), Max Radford (London), MycoWorks (California), Soleille Gallery (Ibiza), Stéphanie Frederickx (Belgium), The Millen House (The Netherlands), Uppercut (Antwerp), Vasto (Spain) and Adorno Future 50 (International).
The online collectible design gallery Adorno has introduced Future50, a curated selection of emerging designers who blend cultural heritage with innovative material exploration. As part of the fair’s special projects, COLLECTIBLE is proud to present a selection of Future50, marking the first time these visionary talents will be showcased together in real life.
A new design gallery valuing biodesign, bio-sourced or upcycled materials, craftsmanship, and the art of ecological storytelling, ALEOR has been founded by Nathalie Guiot as an extension of the Thalie Foundation and will be launched worldwide at COLLECTIBLE 2025.
Founded by two sisters, Ariane and Lara van Dievoet, sustainable design gallery Augusta exhibits unique and innovative pieces created by designers using recycled or bio-based materials. For its second participation to COLLECTIBLE, Augusta presents the work of six designers based in and around Brussels who are exploring the possibilities of materials and production techniques with a sustainable approach and showcasing a distinctive and high-end aesthetic: Roxane Lahidji, Mathilde Wittock, Eloïse Maës and Audrey Werthle from La Gadoue Atelier, Laure Kasiers and Ariane van Dievoet.
BOON_ROOM was launched in September 2018 as a concept gallery showing an exuberantly creative vision and a fine curation of contemporary and timeless collectibles. BOON_ROOM will exhibit an exclusive new collection produced specifically:: Taes, by Aad Bos. Inspired by the grandeur of sloping-sided architectural platforms historically used for religious, ceremonial, and defensive purposes, Taes merges historical depth with contemporary expression.
Galerie Paradis, a newly opened Parisian design gallery, will showcase a solo exhibition by Belgian designer and cabinetmaker Dirk Meylaerts. Following years in the art world, Meylaerts returned to furniture design in 2020, embracing a refined, artisanal approach. His designs, crafted from fine woods and metals, balance minimalism with structural innovation. Galerie Paradis highlights his thoughtful craftsmanship, where simplicity meets architectural precision.
London-born and based gallerist Max Radford founded his gallery in 2019 with the aim of highlighting emerging British designers. Returning to COLLECTIBLE for the fourth time following last year’s acclaimed showcase, he presents 16 London-based designers and artists—11 of whom are new to the fair. Among them is Ty Locke, whose work examines the meaningful dimensions of domestic objects, alongside fresh pieces from designers like Lewis Kemmenoe, whose Patchwork Cabinets were a standout favorite at last year’s event.
Recently opened in a striking building in Ibiza, Soleille Gallery will present a curated selection of bold works that bridge art, architecture, and design. For its first participation at COLLECTIBLE, the gallery will feature a duo exhibition by designers Marius Ritiu and Ileana Moro, along with Dutch designer Linde Freya and the young Mexican designer and artist Pilar de Arino.
Founded in 2022 by architect and curator Niek Schoenmakers, The Millen House is a gallery and project space dedicated to uniting 20th-century and contemporary art, design, and architecture. Inspired by the raw beauty of modernist architecture, the gallery’s collection emphasizes sculptural form and functional artistry.
For COLLECTIBLE 2025, Uppercut, founded and directed by Scott Lippens, will showcase a mix of new and existing works by Yoon Shun, Bram Vanderbeke, Illya Goldman Gubin, André Jacob, Nicolas Zanoni, Soft Baroque, and Sigurd Nis Schelde in a very compelling carpeted scenography.
VASTO is an emerging art and collectible design gallery that serves as a catalyst for contemporary culture—a home and a gallery. It fosters dialogue across disciplines—art, design, and photography—creating a space where these worlds intersect. For COLLECTIBLE Brussels 2025, VASTO will present a curated selection of emerging designers, including Forever Studio, Diego Ramos, Daisuke Yamamoto, Alice Pandolfo, Nico and more—artists who continuously push the boundaries of materials with an ever-evolving mindset.
DIALOGUE
While COLLECTIBLE focuses on contemporary creation, it also acknowledges the influence of design history. The DIALOGUE section invites galleries to present works from the 1980s and 1990s alongside contemporary pieces. Exhibitors include Ateliers Jespers (Belgium), Galerie Alain Hens (Belgium), GUSCH x COUR (Germany) MBA Fine Arts / Galerie Jais (France) and Spazio Viruly (Netherlands) among others.
Building on the last edition, GUSCH x COUR will exhibit a dialogue between Otto Zapf and Giseok Kim, two designers—one modern and one contemporary—whose minimal, technical, and sculptural designs effortlessly embody the essence of the different eras in which they were created. This year they are now presenting their seating ideas, which not only complement each other but also align with the concept they explored last year with the shelving system.
For Atelier Jespers, Jean-François Declercq is curating a booth reminiscent of a crypt, where contemporary works by Federico Greca ("Move" collection shown for the first time), André Jacob, and Gerard Kuijpers are presented in dialogue with historical pieces by Gruppe Pentagone, Starck, Toni Cordero, Rei Kawakubo, and Yonel Lebovici. The installation, titled "Playground", creates an immersive environment where Franky goes to Hollywood meets a goth-inspired atmosphere with BDSM influences.
Spazio Viruly, based in Rotterdam, presents for its first participation Elvis Wesley’s aluminum shelf, Merijn Haenen’s neon-infused Building Kits, and a new floor lamp by its founder Sven Jansse. Bridging eras, the display pairs these contemporary works with select collectible pieces from the 1980s onward, creating a dynamic conversation between past and present.
For COLLECTIBLE 2025, MBA Fine Arts and Galerie Jaïs will create a unique dialogue between 20th-century Japanese ceramics and contemporary design. MBA Fine Arts will present works from private collections, highlighting sculptures made by Japanese ceramists with a deep sensitivity to material, while Galerie Jaïs will show a curated
selection of pieces from the 1950s to contemporary creations. The booth will highlight the intersection of tradition and innovation, exploring the evolution of craftsmanship through both time-honored ceramics and modern design.
BESPOKE
Since its inception, participation in COLLECTIBLE has resulted in highly successful commissions. To highlight commissioned works, the BESPOKE section invites independent design studios to showcase their creations within a distinctive scenography. This year, the featured studios include Diederik Schneeman (Netherlands), Maarten de Ceulaer (Belgium), Pierre Castignola (Netherlands), Tim Teven x Flora Lechner (Netherlands), Show not Show (Netherlands), Zaventem Ateliers (Belgium), among others.
For COLLECTIBLE, Belgium designer Maarten De Ceulaer will unveil Cairn Lights, a series of stone-based luminaires that embody balance, craftsmanship, and connection to the natural world.
A product design studio based in Como and founded in 2024, Nagot is characterized by a strong interest in materials, both raw and processed, and by an artisanal approach to production, thanks to the expertise of skilled craftsmen working in the Como area and in Italy. At COLLECTIBLE 2025, Nagot will present key pieces from the Captive Collection alongside other designs. A featured lamp showcases a light source moving along a track within a solid stainless-steel structure.
Nestled within the historic walls of a repurposed paper factory near Brussels, Zaventem Ateliers is a pioneering hub for contemporary design, artistry, and craftsmanship, founded by visionary designer Lionel Jadot. Zaventem Ateliers will showcase 11 of its designers for this 2025 edition, including pieces from Aurelien Veyrat, Cedric Van Parys, Grond Studio, Lila Farget, Lionel Jadot, Loumi Le Floc'h.
NEW GARDE
In recent years, a surge of new galleries, design studios, and collectives focused on contemporary design has emerged worldwide. This trend signifies a revitalization of the collectible design scene, fueled by the desire to better showcase the designers who inspire them. COLLECTIBLE 2025 aims to recognize this movement by offering these emerging entities a platform for international recognition. Featured galleries include Laura Dominici + Basil Schu (Austria), lucie claudia podrabska (Portugal), DESIGNBUREAU & MADAMBOZARJIANTS (Georgia), and Full Circle (France) among others.
Vienna-based object designer Laura Dominici and artist-botanist Basil Schu started collaborating in 2024, with a collaboration presented as part of the curated exhibition OUTDOOR during COLLECTIBLE New-York 2024. Fascinated by the nuances of daily life, Laura Dominici and Basil Schu explore the evocative potential of everyday objects, examining how they can disrupt reality and spark new perceptions. At COLLECTIBLE 2025, they will present a series of works centered on objects often seen as mere background elements—towels—redefining their role and significance.
CURATED SECTION – The Reality of the Virtual by Brecht Wright Gander
A highly anticipated highlight of COLLECTIBLE each year, the CURATED section serves as a platform for radical experimentation and discovery in design. Here, participants – emerging and mid-career independent designers and design studios – are invited to explore pioneering ideas and processes in design, in an outstanding scenography. For this year’s edition of COLLECTIBLE Brussels, the CURATED section will be chaired and curated by New York-based artist and writer Brecht Wright Gander (US), among fellow jury members Adrian Madlener, Journalist (US); Max Radford, Gallerist (UK); and Olivier Zeitoun, Design Curator at the Centre Pompidou, Paris (France).
Around the curatorial statement The Reality of the Virtual, the participating creators are invited to imagine a space between imagination and reality, where ideas take shape through both traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. As the traditional divide between hands-on workshops and digital design is fading int the age of VR, AR, and AI, this year, COLLECTIBLE’s Curated section showcases works that blend digital innovation with hands-on expertise.
The Reality if the Virtual will present pieces by 9+1 (Japan), ACOPE STUDIO (France), Adir Yakobi (Israel), Alinea Design Objects (Belgium), ANNE MARIE MAES (Belgium), Chai Dienn (The Netherlands), Daniel Widrig (UK), Enrichers (The Netherlands), Gabor Gobi (Hungary), JANJANSSENWERKEN (The Netherlands), KIDZ (The Netherlands), mati sipiora (Polska), nicolette de waart (The Netherlands), Objets Mito (UK), Sabrina Merayo Nuñez (US), Soledre (France), Studio Elena Genesio (The Netherlands), Studio Jonas Hejduk (The Netherlands), Studio Kloak (US), Studio Martina Dimitrova (Germany), Studio NAWA (US) and Thilo Reich (Germany), among others.
ARCHITECT <=> DESIGNER
As contemporary design continues to blend art and craft, furniture designed by architects is reclaiming its traditional importance. COLLECTIBLE introduces a new platform exclusively for architects and interior designers to present their latest furniture creations. This year, the section will include works by around 12 studios including 11 & SYNDICATE (Switzerland) andykim.global (US), Art Attaichi (India), Kerstens Interior (Belgium), M'ama edizioni (Italy), marmo spirito (France) MMOOS. (Italy), Mnestra_Sylviane Merchez (Belgium) studio mad (Germany), Rebecca Ackaert (Belgium), Zoé Wolker Studio (Portugal) among others.
Specialized in interior design, furniture, product design, and collectible design, Kerstens will unveil the Mono Collection, a distinguished series inspired by archetypal design principles. Harmonizing pure lines with timeless aesthetics, the collection will distill design to its essence, celebrating symmetry, proportion, and balance. As a centerpiece, Kerstens will present a limited-edition Mono side table, crafted in solid glass by Czech master artisans, offering an exclusive preview of this extraordinary blend of minimalism and craftsmanship.
Founded by the architect and designer Federica Zama in 2023, M'ama edizioni will present Ballerina, a distinctive kitchen concept that reimagines functionality with creativity. The Ballerina will be dressed in a special Carosello curtain, echoing designer Arianna De Luca's line of objects for Eleit, creating a harmonious visual dialogue. This curtain, inspired by the timeless magic of Victorian carousels, adds a playful and artistic touch to the kitchen.
Zoé Wolker, founder of Zoé Wolker Studio based in Lisbon, will present the AME Collection, a sculptural series exploring the purity of geometric forms and their interplay with light. Balancing solidity and fluidity, each piece transforms into an architectural statement, where reflective surfaces and bold shapes create a sense of modern sophistication.
OUTDOOR
Successfully inaugurated in March 2024 in Brussels, OUTDOOR was created to address the growing demand for high-quality outdoor furniture, a category that remains surprisingly hard to find. Last year, the section was curated by renowned landscape architect Bas Smets (landscape architect for Notre Dame de Paris) and Art Director Eliane Le Roux. For 2025, the OUTDOOR section will be curated by Rotterdam-based visual artist and garden designer Frank Bruggeman, whose practice seamlessly blends art, design, and landscape. Bruggeman has previously designed several garden-related exhibitions for the Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam, and his work continues to explore the intersection of these disciplines.
SCENOGRAPHY
Pauline Leprince, a Paris-based interior architect and designer known for her striking lines and thoughtful material choices, will serve as the scenographer for COLLECTIBLE Brussels 2025, in collaboration with the Belgian brand Bellerose. Her scenography for COLLECTIBLE Brussels 2025, titled Mythology of Functionality – A Symbolic Reading, delves into the exploration of spaces through a narrative and sensory lens. The goal is
to create an immersive experience where raw materials and staging alter our perception of function, reimagining their use to reveal a deeper, symbolic interpretation.
The CURATED section will be designed by Chinese artist and designer Duyi Han, collaborating with Salon 94 and designing remarkable scenography for museums. For COLLECTIBLE 2025, he will hand-paint on the exhibition floor, creating an abstract composition informed by the appearances and placement of the showcased furniture. Designed with the help of AI, this painting echoes AI’s process of learning and synthesis, where shapes blur, fuse, and shift, resembling an image in perpetual training— approaching resolution but never fully settling.
SELECTION COMMITTEES
This year, the fair’s core participants are selected by a distinguished selection committee spanning the global design and creative sectors, including Mette Barford, Editor-in-Chief of Ark Journal (Denmark); Prof. Tulga Beyerle, Director of the Museum of Arts and Crafts, Hamburg (Germany); Lidewij Edelkoort, Trend forecaster (The Netherlands); and Dorothée Meilichzon, Interior Designer (France). Together with the fair’s founders, they commit to fostering the core values of collaboration, discovery, and creative exchange that define the fair’s uniqueness within the design world.
The Selection Committee for the CURATED section 2025 is chaired and curated by New York-based artist and writer Brecht Wright Gander (US), among fellow jury members Adrian Madlener, Journalist (US); Max Radford, Gallerist (UK); and Olivier Zeitoun, Design Curator at the Centre Pompidou, Paris (France).
The OUTDOOR section is curated by Rotterdam-based visual artist and garden designer, Frank Bruggeman.
