初雪 Hatsuyuki - a group show on 'first snow' at IBASHO
Traditionally the Japanese have many celebrations connected to nature. The changing of the seasons leads to beautiful poems to be written and art to be created. With this in mind IBASHO wishes to celebrate the approaching winter with the exhibition ‘Hatsuyuki’, a group exhibition honouring the first snow. Through the works of 17 Japanese photographers and 5 Western photographers the beauty of a white, wintery world will be shown.
A well-known phenomenon that attracts a lot of attention from artists and photographers is the bloom of the 'sakura' or cherry blossoms in the spring. But the winter and its first snow also inspires many photographers.
With this in mind IBASHO wishes to celebrate the approaching winter with the exhibition ‘Hatsuyuki’, a group exhibition honouring the first snow. Through the works of 17 Japanese photographers and 5 Western photographers the beauty of a white, wintery world will be shown.
