Be-Part presents: Frequently the woods are pink
Be-Part organises an exhibition with private loans from the Kortrijk and Waregem region. It concerns collectors of contemporary visual arts who live or work in the region. Some of these collections consist of hundreds of pieces, others count only 15 or 20 works. Some buy early, others have a nose for international talent that has not yet found its way to the Belgian art scene.
Be-Part does not have the ambition to make a representative exhibition, but rather to work on certain themes with regard to content. All the works in the exhibition date from 1970 to 2020.
The exhibition in Be-Part will comprise some sixty works of an international level and generally of museum quality. The collectors/loaners will remain anonymous within this concept at their own request. Works will be shown by Francis Alÿs, Carl Andre, Vanessa Beecroft, Pierre Bismuth, Louise Bourgeois, Jos De Gruyter and Harald Thys, René Heyvaert, Roni Horn, Carsten Höller, Sofia Hultén, On Kawara, Gabriel Kuri, Sol LeWitt, Sarah Lucas, Jonas Lund, Matt Mullican, Charlotte Posenenske, Laure Prouvost, Ugo Rondinone and Annicka Yi, among others.
Publication
On the occasion of the exhibition, a catalogue will be published by Hannibal Books. The catalogue includes texts by Patrick Ronse, Luk Lambrecht and Ive Stevenheydens, photographs by Tom Callemin.
