Antwerp Art Weekend: an event for contemporary art in over 60 galleries, art spaces and museums in Antwerp, Belgium.

For the third time, art venues in and around Antwerp are putting their hands together to celebrate contemporary art. During three intense days, people can experience the city and its flourishing art scene with over 60 galleries, art spaces, temporary exhibitions and museums.

The third Antwerp Art Weekend will take place from Friday, May 19th to Sunday May 21st. The Weekend chooses this momentum to generate extra attention for contemporary art in Antwerp. Antwerp is back on the map as an epicenter for contemporary art, and that should be celebrated. Highlights are the renewed M HKA with a permanent collection exhibition, the opening of the new, second spaces by galleries Sofie Van de Velde and Plus One, and the presentation of the new artistc direction of Extra City.

This year, DE Studio functions as a central location for the Antwerp Art Weekend, hosting exhibitions, talks and the Nacht van de Beeldende Kunst or the Night of the Visual Arts.

There are special opening hours, additional activities (such as extramural exhibition projects and lectures), and receptions.
