With a rich and varied selection of colorful graphic works and five large-format oil paintings on paper covering the period 1988-2026, this is the first major presentation of his graphic work outside Germany, marking an important moment on the international contemporary art scene.

For this exhibition, almost the entire museum is dedicated to a single temporary monographic exhibition. Only a very limited selection of emblematic pieces from the permanent collection - including The Scream by Edvard Munch and Pornokratès by Félicien Rops - will remain on view for the duration of the exhibition. This exceptional curatorial decision underscores the importance and scale of the presentation.

More info here

JULY

Estivales du Haut-Calavon
27 - 31 July 2026
Route de Banon Viens (Vaucluse)
Domaine Les Davids

                <use xlink:href="#icon-expand"></use>

From 27 to 31 July 2026, the Domaine Les Davids in Viens in the Luberon will host the 5th edition of Les Estivales du Haut Calavon. The exhibition marks an important early milestone in his career, bringing together five years of work since the launch of his design practice.

Born in 1995, Van Orshaegen graduated in 2019 and made his international debut during the Milan Design Week in 2021. Five years later, this exhibition brings together, for the first time, a selection of key works that chart the evolution of his practice, alongside new pieces created especially for the occasion.

Conceived as an overview of a body of work in continuous development, the exhibition explores the space between furniture, object and sculpture. Through his work, Van Orshaegen investigates how form, material and proportion can define a space. His practice is characterised by a refined aesthetic, meticulous attention to detail, and a pronounced sensitivity to tactility and atmosphere.

More info here

SEPTEMBER

Ben Sledsens
3 September - 10 October 2026
Tim Van Laere Gallery, Antwerp

                <use xlink:href="#icon-expand"></use>

Tim Van Laere Gallery presents a solo exhibition by the Belgian artist Ben Sledsens.
Sledsens draws from a broad and remarkably diverse range of inspirations, measuring himself against the achievements of his artistic predecessors. His landscapes reveal compositional affinities with the work of Pieter Bruegel the Elder and Henri Rousseau, while his use of light and color recalls the paintings of James Ensor, Claude Monet, Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, and even Abstract Expressionists such as Mark Rothko, who pushed the exploration of light, color, and form to its limits. Yet Sledsens never completely abandons figuration. Instead, he abstracts in search of the essence and beauty that lie within the recognizable forms of his subjects. In doing so, he invites viewers to pause and reflect on the familiar, encouraging them to seek beauty within their own perceptions and observations.

More info here

Philippe de Gobert - Dedans / Dehors
10 September - 17 November 2026
LMNO, Brussels

LMNO presents Dedans / Dehors, a solo exhibition by the Belgian artist Philippe De Gobert. The exhibition brings together fourteen large-format photographs, accompanied by a scale model that offers a unique insight into the artist’s distinctive creative process.

For this series, De Gobert turns his gaze toward Brussels. The images function as a sequence of windows opening onto the city, revealing what usually remains hidden and what is rarely—if ever—shown. Rather than focusing on monumental façades or iconic views, the photographs highlight the reverse side of the urban landscape: rear façades, inner courtyards, and spaces shielded from public view. Together, they form a striking portrait of Brussels that is at once sociological, architectural, and poetic.

The artist’s scale models serve as the starting point for his photographic practice. De Gobert first constructs a model of a fictional space or a place inspired by a real environment, often depicting artists’ studios or iconic architectural settings. He favors minimalist interiors—stripped down, uncluttered, and filled with light. The model is then installed in his studio and lit like a film set. With the precision of an architectural photographer, he takes photographs that are subsequently printed in large format.

With Inside / Outside, Philippe De Gobert reveals not only a little-known side of Brussels, but also photography’s ability to blur the boundaries between reality and construction. The works contain countless references to rituals, early science, oral storytelling traditions and visual language, fossilized natural elements, animals, mysticism, planetariums, and astronomy, as well as allusions to our contemporary digital imaging and semantics.

More info here

Ai WeiWei
18 September - 14 November 2026
Patrick Derom Gallery, Brussels

                <use xlink:href="#icon-expand"></use>

Patrick Derom Gallery presents a retrospective exhibition of the work of Ai Weiwei from 18 September to 14 November 2026.

Emblematic works from the 1990s, such as the Study of Perspective series (1995–2011), are presented in dialogue with iconic pieces like Neolithic Vase with Coca-Cola Logo (2015). His work bears witness to a profound commitment – at once social, political and poetic – that continues to shape his artistic practice to this day.

Kentridge’s artistic output ranges from drawings, animated films and sculptures to prints, installations and videos. These works often emerge while he is directing a theatre or opera production, another field to which he devotes his energies. I am not me, the horse is not mine, William Kentridge’s solo exhibition at Bozar, offers a comprehensive overview of his oeuvre from the early 1980s to the present day. Several of his major stage productions receive special attention. The exhibition highlights the performative and collaborative nature of Kentridge’s practice, in which he allows art to evolve into a space for political inquiry, historical reckoning and poetic transformation.

William Kentridge will take over one of Bozar’s major exhibition spaces, create site-specific works, and curate a rich, multidisciplinary programme. This is by no means the first time we have welcomed Kentridge to Brussels. He has a long-standing connection with the city, where he premiered his first opera (Faustus in Africa! 1995), and where Bozar presented his first solo exhibition in Europe in 1998.

Kristof Santy: BOLERO
20 September - 24 October 2026
Sorry We’re Closed, Brussels

                <use xlink:href="#icon-expand"></use>

In September, the Brussels gallery Sorry We’re Closed is presenting BOLERO, a major new solo exhibition by Belgian artist Kristof Santy (b. 1987, Roeselare), unfolding across the gallery’s three floors.

Santy's second solo exhibition at the gallery brings together an entirely new body of work, including paintings, drawings and — for the first time — three-dimensional works on copper plates. The exhibition brings together a broad selection of films that will be rotated several times throughout its duration. In total, 22 films will be shown, alongside numerous books, magazines, and posters, offering a focused perspective on two often overlooked aspects of Warhol’s multifaceted practice: cinema and print.

The Herbert Foundation manages, preserves, and researches the international collection and archives assembled by Annick Herbert and Anton Herbert between the 1970s and 2000. The collection and archives are made accessible to the public through temporary exhibitions, collection presentations, and a wide range of public events.

All Tomorrow’s Parties marks a new chapter in the Herbert Foundation’s programming. For the first time, its exhibition programme expands its scope by exploring the Collection Imaginaire of Annick and Anton Herbert: a specific selection of artists considered essential to their intellectual framework, offering a broader, generation-based perspective that extends beyond their collection itself. Within this context, Warhol occupies a central place for the Herberts. Their interest was not focused on his more familiar Pop Art works, but rather on his films and printed matter. In these practices, they recognised a radical approach that challenges traditional notions of the artwork, authorship, and the art world itself.

OCTOBER

ArtOnPaper 2026
2 – 4 October 2026
The Sheds, Tour & Taxis, Brussels

                <use xlink:href="#icon-expand"></use>

ArtOnPaper celebrates its 10th edition in 2026 and enters a new chapter in its history with the appointment of Emmanuelle Indekeu as Managing and Artistic Director. The metamorphosis includes both the restoration of monumental buildings dating from the 16th to the 20th century and the addition of a striking new wing, giving the museum a fresh, contemporary look.

The new wing, designed by Carmody Groarke (UK) and ATAMA (BE), forms the final piece of the museum site, alongside the restoration of the historic buildings by RE-ST (BE). It ensures that the museum connects with the 21st century, both in terms of visitor experience and its social role. Visitors can do more than just view collection items; they can engage with them, debate them, reflect, and enjoy. By adding generous spaces for lectures, workshops, exhibitions, events, and nature, the museum opens its doors to the city and the world.

The opening exhibition, Public Matter(s): Design and Democracy (03.10.2026 – 11.04.2027), focuses on the opposite end of the design spectrum. It moves from the design of objects to the design of systems of power. The central idea is that every aspect of Western democracy is designed—and therefore can also be redesigned.

More info here

Threading Landscapes: Art at Park Abbey
24 October 2026 - 28 March 2027
Museum PARCUM — Park Abbey, Leuven

                <use xlink:href="#icon-expand"></use>

Park Abbey and PARCUM present Threading Landscapes: Art at Park Abbey in Museum PARCUM. This large-scale contemporary art exhibition unfolds across the historic site of Park Abbey in Leuven, one of Europe’s most significant and best-preserved monastic heritage landscapes.

The exhibition brings together some 25 Belgian and international artists, including Leonor Antunes, Edith Dekyndt, Jenny Holzer, Meg Webster, Hana Miletić, Laure Prouvost, Cecilia Vicuña, Rossella Biscotti, Ahmed Umar and Julia Isídrez. “Through sculpture, textile works, performance, moving image, sound, ecological practices and installations, they approach the landscape not as a backdrop or representation, but as a dynamic field of relationships,” explains Alderman for Culture Bert Cornillie. “This field is shaped by memory, ritual, ecological transformation and collective life. On the outskirts of Leuven, surrounded by greenery, the domain — with its monastery, abbey farm, ponds and enclosing walls — forms an exceptionally intact ensemble.
